A 16 year Mooney 201 owner, I recently acquired an exceptionally low time 2300TT, 2 owner, F35 in estate sale. Most mods were done. 188 SMOH, Hartzell prop. I would never consider an a/c this old, but it is a rare, hangar kept time piece. Looking forward to new window-windscreen glass, interior, some avionics and if the engine holds, maybe even tip tanks and paint.... we'll see.
This aircraft belonged to the late John N. Eustis of Easton, Maryland. I never knew him, but have researched a great deal about his career, flying history and Beech ownership. I can say he was a meticulous owner and a very well liked guy. He made considerable contributions to jet propulsion with Lockheed Martin and he labored for public policy at his beloved Easton Airport. John was survived by only a distant brother and the proceeds of his estate went to worthy charities.
I will memorialize John by lavishing this airframe with prudent, age appropriate upgrades and maintenance. If anybody knew John, I would be much obliged to learn more.
