I have owned my 58 D50A for about 8 years and absolutley love it. After flying Twin Beechs for many years I did the math and made the comparisons and realized the Model 50 was the answer. We have a vacation home in the Sierras on a 36oo ft strip and I love blasting out of there fully loaded on a hot day while the Baron guys are spinning their dream wheels and shaking their heads knowing it wont work.
Look forward to sharing with other owners here. Tom

Tom,

Welcome to BT. Please post some pics of your plane, sort of an obligation on BT. We tend to say, pics or it did not happen.

After being away for awhile Im back to learn and share all things Beechcraft.
My family has a long history with Beechcraft starting with my father working for Beech in Van Nuys in the 50''s then our own company specializing in Beech 18 spares then branching out into all other models. That company still in operation by baby brother Rick and sister Carol.
I left to specialize in Grimes lighting and later also took over the Beech 18 parts biz which I still operate. Hopefully looking at retirement but cant imagine what else I would do. Im the luckiest guy on earth. I get to go to the airport every day!
During that time I have owned many different Beechs and can't imagine another brand.
Ive been flying a Twin Bonanza for a number of years now and its a love affair no question.
Glad to be back and look forward to participating in this great Forum.
Cheers, Tom

Nice to be back on Beechtalk. Ive had a 50 year love affair with the 18 and look forward to sharing info and doing what we can to keep them flying. Still a major supplier of 18 airframe parts, since 1968. Tom
