Hello, l'm fairly new to beechtalk. Last August I took the leap and traded my 1976 piper arrow for a low time 1979 b55 baron. Absolutely love the airplane, flies like a dream. The arrow has been a great plane as I received all my rating in it beginning with my private. As we began cross county trips with my wife, daughter, lab, and some baggage on a hot day, the arrow was a little sluggish so we decided it was time to move up. Also being around the great lakes in michigan, winter flying had been limited with the arrow.A couple of years ago, I began my multi engine training in a late model 58 baron. Ever since then I'd been hooked. Love the harmonics of two engines and couldn't believe how well she would fly on one. I started looking at booted b55 barons since the price of them was more appealing than a 58 and a couple of guys at the airport told me they where more nimble on the controls and a little lighter fuel burns with the io-470-l. After reading a lot of posts here, I couldn't imagine the performance of the p2 barons with io-550's. I did have to sacrifice some avionics as the arrow had a 430w with traffic, garmin audio panel and transponder. The baron avionics where very old school, still had a loran in the panel. Now I will be able to upgrade the panel the way I want when able. I was just very proud to actually own a baron. The quality of beechcraft is impeccable. Thankfully I had a garmin 560 and an ipad. Can't wait until I upgrade the panel. Please find the attached pictures of my plane based in port huron, michigan. Please be patient with me as this is the first time I'd participated in any forums.

Ryan, Nice Baron and welcome to BT. We have many first time to forum guys on here, you will fit right in. There are many threads here on panel upgrades, so make sure you waste a lot of nights reading options. Tim
