Hi everyone,
My name is Jack and I hail from Houston, Texas. I am currently a student pilot, and close to soloing. I've been flying C152's out of Weiser Airpark (KEYQ) with my instructor, Matthew Severson.
I currently work as a sergeant in the Burglary and Theft Division of the Houston Police Department, but I have always dreamed of flying. As a small child my father worked at an aircraft hanger at Bush Intercontinental which housed all of the planes for the now defunct United Energy Enterprises. The kind pilots let me sit in the cockpits of King Airs and Gulfstreams while making flying noises and dreaming of flying.
I'm married with two small boys (ages 3 and 5), and finally find myself in a position to be able to fly a bit. Although a Bonanza is out of my reach at the moment, I can dream right?
Just last week I was practicing my landings at West Houston Airport (KIWS) when I found myself in a C152 lined up on the taxiway between a Beech T-34 Mentor and a V-tail Bonanza. What a feeling!
Anyhow, I just wanted to say 'Hi!" and introduce myself. Thanks for reading.

Jack, welcome to the brotherhood. A bunch of pilots come together every Saturday at West Houston Airport (KIWS) around 10-11 AM and then fly off to some nearby place for lunch. Lot of flying related chatter and good laughs. Come, spend some time with the bunch and before you know you will be in partnership with someone flying in a Bo or something similar. Good luck with the PPL training.

Jack, Welcome to BT. Starting with a 152 is a great way to build skills. Most are lower power so you really need to dig into the performance charts and make sure you know what the plane can do. Then you get the fun part of planning flights. Good luck, and keep on flying. Make sure to hitch a ride with some of the Texas BT guys for a lunch run or two. This will help keep the excitement up when you hid a hard part in flight training. Tim
