First thanks to all the great information you have posted. What an asset!
I am a Beechcraft fan. In 1974, I sent a letter to Cessna, Piper and Beechcraft. I was interested in useful loads. I grew and sold fruit, honey, plants at my roadside stand in Jamul, CA. My folks were supportive. I used the money earned to take flying lessons. The sale publications, still have them, are what made me a Bonanza fan. Let's face it, there is nothing like a Bonanza! I soloed at 16 had my pilot license at 17, and pushed on. When I graduated College I had sufficient time to apply to the airlines. Wings West hired me in '83. I operated Beechcraft C-99s and SA- 226/227s. In 1985 I was hired by American Airlines. Captain on the 727, DC-9 and B-757/767. I always wanted own my dream aircraft, a-36. So at the top of the internet bubble, Dec 1999 I found a 1 owner, 1200 hour, no damage baby. N136KC. Now she has flown my family, wife and 2 girls, safely and in comfort for over 1400 hours. I get to fly her every week. I live 25miles NW from San Diego, RNM. So when I have a trip with American I use 6KC to shuttle me to and from Hawthorne only 35 mins one way. Like a round of golf before and
after work. Beats the i405 any day.
Since the purchase I have made the classic upgrades. Aspen Pro-1000, RC Allen LED backup ADI, GTN 650, Garmin 430, GTX 327, garmin audio, new glass, GD inserts, paint and interior are nice along with many more goodies. Cruise Air in RNM make her run like a top and provide trustworthy advise and maintenance.
I will be asking many questions as I am getting ready for an engine and prop.

Welcome Jeff,

There are a lot of people here with extensive experience in the A36 and I'm sure you'll get a quick response to your prop and engine questions. Welcome aboard. I too commute to work in my airplane although not as often or effectively as do. It is a magic thing looking down on interstate traffic at Beech speeds.
