Hello William,
in all honesty this date is changing as we get updates from vendors. but at this time we're looking at around mid January.

This is a big disappointment from Garmin. They have left their dealers in limbo, as well as their customers in the process of upgrading. The G5 release with no STC and no ability to use as a backup leaves me hanging too. The result in my case is thousands in extra expense to do the job twice. Others are in far more difficult situations.

I have praised Garmin multiple times in the past for having products ready to go and defying the industry standard of announcing then dragging out delivery.

I sure hope this is a one-time mistake.

Trek - this post is absolutely no reflection on you. I hope Garmin is paying you a mint. They should be.

It doesn't sound like it is Garmin's fault necessarily. From Trek's post it sounds like a Vendor parts problem, so they may be in the same boat as those waiting for their installs, i.e. waiting for parts to finish assembly.

Thanks everyone,
I really can't get into the details of it, but a problem was found at the last minute which was hardware related and some last minute scrambling. we had every intention of doing everything possible to get this issue completed and parts from the vendor and out the door before the end of the year (this would be optimum for end of the year numbers from a business standpoint which is why we were doing everything possible). it just didn't pan out and we're working around the clock to get these out to the field as soon as possible.

I've been speaking with a number of dealers on this daily and understand the impact and I do sincerely apologize for the delays, we're feeling this as well and really want these out too.

Take your time Trek. We would rather have it right than on time

Thanks William,
that is our goal. we luckily found the issue during some testing and it is a major issue. The last thing I would want is to push something to market and then have all my forum friends with problems. we've got a handle on it, it's just now to get new parts and get them built and to verify it is working 100%.
