There seems to be some confusion about which forum is most appropriate for a given topic.

Although, to some extent, the exact forum selection isn't critical, choosing the most relevant forum can help others looking for a topic on a particular subject more readily find your thread. Likewise, it can help ~you~ find a thread of interest in the future.

Anyway, here are some helpful guidelines when posting a new thread. Hope this helps.

Beechcraft Specific Discussion Forums - Generally speaking, if the discussion relates to a specific Beechcraft model and is NOT common to all Beechcraft, it should be placed in one of the following specific forums. If the discussion is common to all Beechcraft (e.g. engine management), the discussion can be placed in Plane Talk, Panel Talk, or Engine Talk, as necessary.

Beech Singles - Beechcraft Bonanzas, Musketeers, and other Beechcraft piston singles here. All tails welcome.

Beech Twins - Beechcraft Barons, Dukes, Lords, Ladies, and Serfs. Pistons only, no turbines allowed.

Beech Turbines - Beechcraft King Air, Premier Jets and other turboprops/jets. Come to laugh at the rest of us.

Beech Classics - Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing, Model 18 Twin Beech, and other round motor classics.

Aviation Discussion Forums

Plane Talk ™ - A place for general talk about aviation and other a-words.

This forum is for all aviation-related discussion that does not specifically fit in one of the other dedicated forums (i.e. Panel Talk, Beech Singles, Beech Twins, Beech Turbines, Beech Classic). If the discussion fits in one of these other dedicated forums, then it should be posted there. Plane Talk should be considered a catch-all for aviation discussion that doesn't fit somewhere else already.

Typical subjects will include:
  • Regulatory Discussion

Engine Talk ™ - A place to discuss engines and powerplant systems (LOP, props, oil, fuel, and overhauls).

This forum is for all discussion relating to our aircraft engines and the systems that are generally bolted to them. This includes all discussion related to lean-of-peak operations, rich-of-peak operations, engine overhauls, engine-specific fuel systems (model specific fuel systems should be discussed in Beech Singles or Beech Twins), propeller systems, and the like.

Typical subjects will include:
  • Engine Management
  • Engine Operations
  • Engine Setup

Panel Talk ™ - A place for general talk about instruments, gauges, GPSs, and associated software.

This forum is for all discussion related to instrumentation, configuration and operation of avionics, and general panel related questions, irrespective of the Beechcraft model.

Typical subjects will include:
  • ADS-B Equipment and Compliance
  • GPS setup and upgrades
  • Multi-Function Display setup and upgrades
  • Portable Devices
  • Autopilots
  • Panel Layout Design

IFR/WX Talk ™ - A place to discuss IFR procedures (e.g. approaches) and weather-related topics.

This forum is for all discussion related to IFR procedures, charts, process, decision-making and weather-related discussion.

Typical subjects will include:
  • General Weather Discussion
  • IFR Approach Plate Interpretation & Understanding
  • IFR Minimums
  • IFR-Specific ATC Issues
  • Weather Data Interpretation
  • Weather In-Flight Decisions

Trip Talk ™ - A place to discuss destinations, FBOs, and flight planning, and coordinate fly-ins.

This forum is for all discussion related to particular destinations and upcoming fly-ins or other gatherings. If you would like to get advice from other BeechTalkers that might live nearby your destination or have been there before, post your question here. Also, if you would like to receive recommendations about particular FBO, post away.

Training Talk ™ - A place to coordinate flight training (e.g. checkout, formation, advanced certification), locate a CFI, and discuss checkrides.

This forum is for all discussion related to coordinating training with a CFI or one of the several proficiency groups, such as BPPP, BPT, Flight Safety, SimCom, and the like. Feel free to solicit local CFI recommendations and discuss checkride preparations.

If you have a specific question relating to engine operation, flight characteristics, flight procedures, airframe, weather, or any other topic, please post it in the specific forum above (e.g. Engine Talk, Beech Singles, etc.).

Job Talk ™ - A place to discuss aviation-related job searches and issues, along with posting aviation-related jobs.

Club Talk ™ - A place to discuss aviation-related type clubs: ABS, AOPA, EAA, Beech Owners List, etc

Crash Talk ™ - A place to discuss aviation accidents, incidents, mishaps, and close-calls. Please read warning post at the top of this forum prior to participation.

Peddlers Talk ™ - A place to buy, sell, or trade your aircraft, aviation related items, and even your non-aviation items. This is a sales forum for members, only.

This forum is for members and BeechTalk Sponsors/Vendors to post items for sale or for trade. It is also a location for members and BeechTalk Sponsors/Vendors to post a specific item that they want to buy. Peddler Talk should be considered analogous to a classified listing in a newspaper. ALL postings in Peddler Talk MUST include the proper designator (FS, FT, WTB) in the subject line and MUST include a price.

It should NOT be used for seeking advice on products. It is imperative that one consults the rules for Peddler Talk listed at the top of that forum--both buyers and sellers.

General Forums

Babble Talk ™ - When it's off-topic and you just can't help yourself.

This forum is for all "off-topic" discussion. Off-topic discussion includes those topics that are not aviation and/or Beechcraft related. Although off-topic discussions are permitted in Babble Talk, please refrain from the discussion of politics, religion, and other volatile topics.

Back Talk ™ - Got a feature request or helpful suggestion for this board? Here's your microphone.

This forum is for all direct communication to the BeechTalk administrators, including feature requests or helpful suggestions relating to BeechTalk. Is should not be used for public airing of grievances, which we request that you contact us directly via private message (using the small envelope icon below our names).

Please note that we typically use this forum as a "to-do" list and thus posts in this forum will eventually be removed once a task is completed.
