Having trouble searching for items for sale (For Sale - Aviation Other). For example, looked up Glove Box in For Sale Forum, and it came back zero, yet I can see one for sale in early January (it had sold). I then tried to search for it in "For Sale - Sold" and it still came back null set. Did the reset of the system on Jan 18 cause this issue?

Thanks
Andrew

Yep, Search is FUBARd and Jeff C says they're working on it.

Yes, search is apparently only giving results from posts that happened after the “reset” a few days ago.

The search function now seems to have a sense of humor:

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: mu 2."

It’s been down since the upgrade. The Jeffs know.

Yes we are aware of the search issues, and it will be fixed in our next maintenance event later this week.

As for the subscribed threads, while we do still have the data, rooting around in that to dig out threads for multiple users would be very time consuming. Probably the easiest way to resubscribe to threads that interest you would be to search for those emails in your email program, click on the link to the thread, and then resubscribe.

Thanks all,

Jeff

Enjoyable to read.

Been getting this when I try to post a reply in the Pilot Repairs thread. Multiple tried, multiple time (over course of half hour or so).

LOL, last night after reading this I tried to post on a couple of threads and the site threw up an error screen. I couldn't post anything anywhere to the board. By and large though, it's been much improved, and I'll happily accept some down time in exchange for smooth and fast operation the rest of the time.

Follow-up: Sidney Z seems to have identified this as a problem with sending from iOS devices. I've notified Jeff C. via email, so hopefully that will get it resolved.

Agree with the improvements! I do wish we could update the search function, which seems a bit clunky and doesn't always understand what you are searching for. The Administrators should look into adding Google search to the site to help with searching for relevant materials. Not sure, technically, if that's possible - but it uses Google's search prowess to scan your own website and return the most relevant results. Would be worth looking into.
