My 2 cents: this site is an oasis away from covid19. I don't read those threads, and don't see how they could add much to my enjoyment of owning and flying a Beechcraft. There are a lot of doctors on here. Lately, they have a lot to BabbleTalk about.

You've touched on what makes BeechTalk such a uniquely valuable place. You can choose the content most meaningful/valuable to you and participate to whatever degree you wish in those areas of your choosing while others can pursue topics perhaps not directly related to aviation. What makes those non-aviation topics so interesting here, besides the variety, is the unique viewpoints of aviators (broadly all people with an aviation passion): people who are from highly variable backgrounds and interests/skills/education BUT generally speaking are opinionated and back up their opinions with reasoned arguments (in some cases passionate and other types of argument as well). I'm an "RV guy" (but a past Bonanza owner) and there's a fantastic RV online community but that community is very constrained topic-wise (must be relevant to RVs) and even some relevant topics are verboten (accidents in particular). That is the moderators prerogative which I respect, but BeechTalk fills in the gaps for me.
