"...Like/ dislike..."

I take it literally; plus or minus. It's especially useful now in the virus discussions which can become fevered. :duck:

Rather than argue & descend into emotional stuff it's easier to just note disagreement. The poster gets to reflect on his statement, on his mischaricterization of something snipped from the news, an offensive opinion or some off-the-wall belief he hasn't questioned in years.

Plusses are easier to use but both remind us we're just standing on a soapbox when we're not offering help.

People have forgotten it's allowed to have different opinions.

This is a well run forum.
I enjoy the feedback on new equipment, problem solving and I have sought out recommendations for equipment to install.
This has been to my good benefit .
Great talents and experience to draw from. I learn and save hours of time/$.
Thanks to everyone!

I am very happy to see this. It's sad that we have come to this. FB is probably as much to blame as anyone. I have been the target of a few off kilter members of BT for some of the silliest reasons. I chose to ignore them and move on. I applaud your decision and look forward to a kinder and more professional BT. I think this is a quality site and full of good solid information. I have even sold several planes to members.

Keep up the good work!

When I read this, I laughed, then I saw the thumbsup guy and realized you weren't being sarcastic.

Just realize that not everyone shares your view.

But, I guess if you had the majority view on covid, things are pretty good. Most agree with you. But if you don't, better if you don't post right now.

Post about airplanes instead.

I probably don't have the majority view there either.

Example:

Cirrus builds good airplanes.
ALL pilots deserve the benefit of the doubt when they end up in crash talk until the NTSB weighs in.

Judge, the defense rests.

Ok, but the current incivility that prompted this thread wasn’t largely caused by “I like Cirrus” posts, was it? We’ve argued about that for ages and most thought it was fine. It’s only when we stray from this:

“ Our goal for BeechTalk is to provide a friendly and welcoming environment for all interested people to share information about Beechcraft airplanes and aviation in general.”

do things go off the rails.

Imagine if there was an "alternate universe BT". With opposite rules. Now that would really be crazy.

I am here for the aviation talk. And a lot of the Babble Talk is nice too. Very hard to be the person, having to draw lines. It would take a toll on any sane person after awhile.

Best to all!

Some days would be a wild ride. Other days would be good learning activities.

I often wonder if most people that get in trouble here do it in babble talk? Interesting study, I'd think.

I would be interested in the BBS metrics of comments, Clicks, views, with respect to ad revenue.

Certainly with more BT-ers home and clicking, commenting and ranting/counter ranting, the Revenue/click has gone up.

So, How is life in the BT barnyard these days? Good? Bad?

I agree with Adam. And my opinion has nothing to do with any particular subject, but rather how posters are respecting each other.
