I wonder if you might want to add to each state a general state announcement forum?

For example, looking at Oklahoma just now I saw the most recent post was notice for an Oklahoma Pilots Association dinner. Happened to be scheduled for KPWA and was posted for that airport, but there's an example that might benefit from a statewide forum post. This one popped out as there are very few posts as the site is new. Next time anyone looks at OK there will likely be a different post for KPWA (as well as many posts for other airports) and the statewide relevant announcement will be missed.

Obviously a risk that the state forum will get clogged up, but thought it worth your consideration (though, pretty sure you may have already been down this path...)

I'll add my concern about using real names. I think that's what makes BeechTalk work. Posters think twice about what they post. (well, usually...)

But I do understand the immense workload of verification of real names.
Hi Mark,

Thanks for the input.

However, honestly, real name policies are only useful to the extent we can verify they are accurate and, as you mentioned, there is enormous workload associated with doing so. We simply do not have the capacity to implement it at Volo and Airport Nation.

That doesn't mean we will let them turn into the wild, wild west. :D :bat:

Help me out here,,, I have no use for, nor do I want to read about or see this thread

Robert,

It's easy to put a thread on ignore. Just touch the little grey x to the left of the thread -- it turns red and *voila* the thread is then ignored.

Edit: Oops. I now see that threads in "BeechTak News" don't work this way.

I guess the news is permanent...

Imagine you are invited to dinner. The conversation is convival, informative, and of high quality with many guests you would not meet in any other circles.

The host raises his glass to make a toast and announcement.

You loudly screech that you don't want to hear anything from HIM, only things that are of interest to you.

...

Bad form old sport. Two demerits.

I'm in. Looks promising, but I wish it required real names like BT.

I too think this new site is a good idea. I'm directing others on my home base to the site.

To be honest, I had forgotten all about this site (and the other new site). Perhaps a couple of obvious links at the top of BT for people like me who (I assume are in the majority) have little time for other websites.

Are you considering to add Canada?
We do fly down there and get US flyers up here.

Be nice to have contacts

signed up, I'm sure I'll get email soon to confirm.

Jeff/Jeff, could you consider adding mallard's landing (GA04) to your list for Georgia? Even though it's a private airport, guests are welcome, and we have quite an active group. I think if added you'd get pretty good contributions....
