There are a lot of aviation issues that are regional and/or airport-based. We envision Airport Nation as being a great location to assemble pilots and others associated with a given airport to discuss any particular issues (regulatory issues, operational issues, etc.) or at least assemble with other pilots in your area. Moreover, Airport Nation should also provide members an opportunity to investigate an afar airport to obtain local knowledge of FBO, operational procedures, and the like.

The mobile version has simplified text (default phpBB software), but it is in the lower right expandable menu--when you're in the forum of interest, click the menu key in the lower right corner, and click the check mark icon to activate the subscription. Once it is activated, that icon will turn to a unsubscribe icon (box with X). Thanks!

In the end, we decided that although there will be some initial inconvenience, we are all used to having to log in to different sites, so it was easier and safer to let them exist separately.

It would seem that the main difference is that initially, in BT, people could rally around a particular topic and explore it even though there were not a lot of contributors. Here we are going to be all over the place (literally) as we connect to places of interest. I would guess a slower start to reach 'important resource' until the posts start to fill out the airport matrix, with some exceptions for airports with topics of general interest (such as, perhaps, Santa Monica.)
Good luck! Granted it is less than 24 hours old, we expect it will take time to grow. With that said, we think it will be very helpful for 1) members who are trying to gain local knowledge of a distant airport or 2) those that have a local airport issue they are collectively fighting to have a place to come together for discussion. Just like BT in its early days, their success will be dependent on those willing to stay engaged and seek opportunities to help others.

Now, if you can make the location in our BT profiles link directly to the airports on the new site when someone clicks on them....

That doesn't mean we will let them turn into the wild, wild west. I too like real names so I enrolled using mine. What's VOLO?

Ha, I Googled that when I saw it in his post as I've no idea what it is. It's an Auto Museum... http://www.volocars.com/

I registered and completed a report on my airport. I found it difficult to look for other airports with them listed by identifier. Is there a search-by-city option that I have missed?? If not, that would help the utility of the site for me.
Thanks! John KGPH

Thanks! John KGPH /\ /\ /\ /\ This! Maybe a tab selection to alternate sort from name to ID. I don't even know the ones around Austin.

Yeah, I feel like this would be better as a database underlying BT and FF.
