What do I tell the Prop Balance guy to do?

I do not know what to tell you. Mine was balanced at a variety of settings and it made a huge improvement.
BTW. Did you ever get the MT prop or are you sticking with what you had on the plane?

Last time I was going to have this done, the guys managing the prop balance asked if I run at 25/25.
I just don't want them to spend a lot of time balancing it at speeds I never run.

Jason,
Mine was balanced at 2,300, down to .03 (?) I think. It flies smoothest at 2500~2700 rpm. I don't know why. It has been balanced twice, once for each engine it has run on, and the results were the same each time, i.e., smoothest at higher rpm.

Jason,
I am a high RPM guy as well. My experience is similar to Max's, it runs smoother at 2500-2700 which is my normal operating range.
When it was balanced I did not give them any specific instructions.

How do they do that at cruise??? Must be a creative way to run the wires and sensor.

Kregg Victory, Victory Aero at Reid Hillview in San Jose Ca is a master. He will spend as much time as you want getting it as good as it will get.
I wanted to make sure my blades weren't on any stop to be sure they were simulating flight. Blade angles are very important and on a stop they might not be correct as in flight. Make sure the motor(s) are running well first. Do an airborn mag check to make sure each mag individually is running super smooth.
The RPM they do the check isn't as important as you would think. The imbalance running around the arc will still be the same. Modern balancers are very good.
In my opinion it is more important to be in the "governing range" so the blades are on the oil, and not on the low or high pitch stop.
Worst news a prop balancer ever told me? "Dude, your prop is very smooth" A tear down of the new top end discovered an incorrect part / saved my bacon - Thanks to Kregg.
